Creative Gift Wrap - Fancy Nancy

So I was going to post another past birthday party this evening, but then my sister-n-law emailed me earlier today, while I was at work, and said my blog inspired her to do this....

SHUT UP! I love it!

My niece is going to a Fancy Nancy themed party.

Now she's busy brainstorming gift wrap ideas for a pirate theme.

Hmmmm, maybe some rope????

Blast from Birthdays Past - Lollipops

Birthday party season is fast approaching in my house.

My kiddos' birthdays fall February, March, April. This isn't really cool.

What were the hubs and I thinking in the summer? ;)

Anyhow...I figured why not post this week about past parties

I have thrown for these sweet, crazy creatures, I claim as my offspring.

Now let me state that I cannot post about every party because sadly some parties I took lots of pictures, and others I probably couldn't find my camera. That is just the truth.

I'll start with the last party thrown. It was for my sweet daughter, Adalyn, who was one last year in March.

It was a lollipop theme, which was a theme that seemed to explode online in the past year and a half.

Lollipop ornament craft for the kids. Only one child actually did the craft at the party, so most went home as an additional favor.







The youngest guest received her own special snack mix! Gerber yogurt bites, strawberry yogurt cheerios, and something else I can't even remember!

 Strawberry flavored marshmallow pops! The kids loved these!

(Party Spotlight) - STAR WARS

As I mentioned in my last post, my two boys and I attended a friend's Star Wars birthday party yesterday, for her son who turned 6!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Here are MOST of the details at a glance...

The invitation ordered off Ebay and printed at home.

The R2D2 cake from Cupcake Crazy

(this far out cake was a surprise to the birthday boy!)

The stars were actually container tops from Joanne's, spray painted blue and then glittered.

My friend made the labels attached to the stars.

The water bottle labels were ordered off Etsy. By the way, Etsy rocks my world!

Of course the snacks coordinated with the theme! I love that! I especially like the pretzel lightsabers!

My friend  made the lightsaber knife wrap. Too stinkin cute!



Take home favor bags included a Star Wars coloring book, pencil, eraser, pretzel MnM's(which I am hoping to steal), a Star Wars cup and my favorite...

 glow-in-the-dark stars!

Also included in the favor bag was a Jedi Training Academy completion certificate.

The kids worked hard for these...here's a peek,

Robes were simply dyed t-shirts, with a rope tie and these handmade Jedi training nametags



Little added touches are the best!

The lightsabers were created using empty gift wrap tubes and silver duct tape.

How easy and awesome is that??

Another surprise for the birthday boy was a visit from Darth Vader!

The kids were starstruck when they saw him!

A few other activites not pictured were...

Xwing Flying

hula hoops hung and tied between two trees,

 the guests had to throw discs through the hoop, and..

a Death Star pinata full of candy and asteroids(bubble gum wrapped in foil)!

All in all it was a great party!

The kids had a blast and the weather was beautiful!

Star Wars Party Intro

A dear friend of mine is throwing her 6 year old son a Star Wars party tomorrow. Knowing this friend like I do, I'm absolutely sure the party will be full of activities, fun decorations, and just plain adorable!

She would plan nothing less!

Lucky for her this year, she has decided NOT to have it at her home, but at a local park. I'm pretty sure there will be some Jedi training of some sort.  A boy's dream!

I plan to take pics and post any and all cute details at a later date, (even though my camera bites the big one.) 

That is a whole other issue.

Because I, (when possible, and thought out) like to coordinate my kids' presents' gift wrap to the recipient's theme, I thought it fitting to post a pic of the birthday boy's gift!

I decided a long time ago that I was done buying birthday cards...well for the most part. It's such a waste of money really, and it's fun to create something more personal. 

I found the cute silver foil wrapping paper, and blue bow at the Dollar Tree, (my new Target),

and the tag is easily made from some Avery business cards and scrap paper.

Hoping to make a comeback!

So let's see....it's been about 2 months since I posted. 

Unfortunately, mommy had to go back to work. :(

It's been an emotional time, adjusting to being away from my kiddos and home, but I'm making the most of it and doing what needs to be done.

My first thought was...well forget blogging!..no time for that! But since I've been home these past two weeks(I'm a teaching assistant), I've been drooling around bloggy party world again, wishing I could/would continue with my own blog. Even if it's on an irregular basis. All of my kids' birthdays are in the next 4 months, so that always gets my creative juices flowing, in anticipation of their parties.

Soooo....we shall see....here's to a new year!
