(Party Spotlight) - Wii/Mario

One child's party down, one more to go!

(usually two more, but I'm combining #2 and #3 this year..yay me!)

My handsome son, Brantley, turned the big 6.

Here are the highlights....

The cupcakes were ordered from a local bakery,

They tasted awesome!

Wii "Fit Kit" favors and nametags

Kit included a mini size water, propel powder, Kids Z bar & a jump rope!

Wii had a blast!!!

Blast from Birthdays Past - CARS

Remember when the CARS theme was hot?!

It's fizzled in the last couple of years, buy my son LOVED them,

and I've always tried to pick themes that my kids could relate to, and enjoy.

This was a fun birthday, however it was originally supposed to be at a local park.

Turns out it rained the exact two hours the party was scheduled,

so we had to change the venue to our house, the night before.

Fabulous.

Fast forward,...the kiddos had fun anyways. I made bagged lunches

(which was more appropriate for the park setting) and cupcakes,

and the kids just played, pulled a pinata and opened gifts.

I loved these favors. Simple color themed pails from the party store,

full of CARS goodies, like markers, fruit snacks, snack cups & utensils.

Yellow/Lightning McQueen for the boys.

Red/Sally for the girls.

I found the race flag tags at a local teacher supply store.

Kids table

The table and chairs were from a local rental company.

Perfect kid size and colors!

Homemade Pit Passes for the guests,

and the birthday boy, of course!

I wonder if this theme will be popular again when CARS 2 eventually comes out??

Now on to finish preparations for this weekend's party!

Suesspirations

I have been juggling around a couple of themes for

my middle and youngest's birthday party coming in early April.

I decided awhile back that I would combine the two.

Their birthdays are about 3 weeks apart.

Something appropriate for a boy and a girl, turning 4 and 2.

Well I'm 99% sure it's going to be.....

WHO doesn't love Dr. Suess??????

I have been obsessing over incoporating red and aqua.

I just love the color combo.

Well hello??? Thing 1 and Thing 2!!

Homemade Valentines

I am sooo happy, because I am ahead of the game!

(that's a plus for me and my crazy life right now) 

My boys' Valentines are made and ready for delivery!

 I gave a sneak peek of my supplies a couple of weeks ago.

In case you didn't see....

Here's the result...

I found these perfect gummy hearts at Target...

I believe they were 8 for $.99

So cute!!

One heart per mini cello treat bag...

linen cardstock folded and cut to size, corners snipped, a couple of glittered stickers 

& an avery label for the label :)

Not to shabby....or fancy really. That's pretty much my style.

I LOVE seeing other homemade Valentines!

Class Valentine Party

As "Room Rep" for my Kindergartner's class, I have the duty of planning the V-Day party.

In less than 24 hours I have a rough plan, pending approval from the teacher.

Actually, it's not that big of a deal.

I'm only required to plan four centers, one being a snack.

Here's what I got!

Decorate-your-own Valentine Bags

They're going to need something to hold all those Valentines, right??

I'm thinking pink bags for the girls, and red for the boys, or white bags for all.

I just really like color whenever possible.

Each of the kids can decorate as they choose with stickers, markers, etc...

Easy shmeezy.

I thought it might be cute to have these labels

(one per bag & framed with cardstock)

on the front, for the kids to write their names...

Thumbprint Valentine for Mom & Dad

SO simple AND cute!

Provide pink or red construction paper, red acrylic paint, wiggly eyes & markers.

Conversation Heart Graph

A little math won't hurt!

We actually did this same activity (different printable), in my son's Pre-K

class last year, and I figure it's still appropriate and fun for Kindergartners.

Provide snack size ziploc bags filled with

approximately 20-30 hearts and one graph per child.
